At Adaptive Accountancy, we make it a point to step away from the spreadsheets and tax returns once in a while.

Every last Thursday of the month, our entire team gets together for lunch. This time, we headed to The Kitchen in Howden—a fantastic spot that I’d absolutely recommend if you haven’t been.

After the madness of January’s tax season, it was a much-needed break—a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy time together outside the office.

As small business owners, we often get caught up in revenue, profits, and efficiency—but sometimes, it’s just nice to be nice.

Would my team leave if we didn’t do this? Probably not.
Does it make financial sense? Maybe not directly.

But what it does do is create a positive work environment—one that I would have wanted when I was employed.
